The Waorani indigenous nationality, located at the Ecuadorean Amazon region was forcefully introduced to the outside world by an American missionary group in 1958. Ever since, they have adjusted to a system that has been functioning and evolving for hundreds of years. Oil extraction, logging, and colonist settlements are a big threat to their territory, which has already been highly reduced.

The drastic change that they have gone through has had a psychological and cultural impact in their community. But even though the Waorani are currently facing a challenging situation, continue to move forward with their heads held high. They are warriors, and they continue to fight for their rights and for their lands.
